These tiny voltmeters can be very handy. They've got mounting tabs on the ends but I don't usually mount them
with the tabs. These come in a few varieties, but the most common are three digits, with a range of between
00.0 and 99.9 volts. Some of the meters are only good to about 35 volts. They also come in self-powered (3-wire)
and vampire-powered (2-wire) variants. The vampire meters turn on around 4 volts, while the self-powered can
display voltages all the way down to zero.
All these meters have a micro trimmer on the back to calibrate, and I suggest you calibrate any meter before
installing it. I've seen 13.8 volts read anywhere between 13.5 and 14.1 volts before I calibrated them. They
are also available in a variety of colors, but I find green is the easiest to read. They can be difficult to
read when in direct sun, though covering them with smoked plexiglass usually makes them very easy to read, even
in bright light.
